This upcoming project is a queer-focused community space which will also operate as a café and dépanneur in Montreal’s own Plateau.
We aim to serve as a multifunctional community hub with café seating, a convenience store, a shared working space, and a venue for events and workshops. Through inclusive hiring, local partnerships, and a vibrant public presence, we foster an affirming space for queer individuals and allies.

Chez Commodité will be a queer-centered community hub located in Montréal that serves as a welcoming third space offering café-style food and beverages, dépanneur essentials, and accessible gathering space. Our primary mission is to create a deeply inclusive, affirming, and joyful place of connection for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, while offering high-quality, locally sourced products and services.
Our space is designed with an clean industrial aesthetic featuring pops of colour and foliage, creating a welcoming yet bold environment that encourages both lingering and community exchange. Chez Commodité provides essentials, refreshments, and connection—from espresso drinks and vegan muffins to seasonal wines, toothpaste, or simply a friendly chat.
In addition to being a café and dépanneur, Chez Commodité also hosts community-building events such as queer book clubs, skill-sharing workshops, and outdoor activity clubs. The space is also available for private bookings and pop-up events.
